Student Staff Selection Processes

Welcome the information page for Student Staff Selection.   The selection process is designed to examine a candidates potential as a future student staff member.  Each stage is very important in its own respect and candidates will be evaluated on his or her cumulative merit throughout the process.  Be sure to read the job description and eligibility requirements for the position(s) in which you are interested.

Several process are conducted throughout the year, each with a different purpose.  Interested students should participate in the process that pertains to their situation.

General Process–  This process for current 1st years, sophomores and juniors who are interested in joining the staff for the following academic year.  The general process is considered the primary process.  Adjustments are made for students who are abroad during the process.

Mid-year Process-  This process is to fill anticipated vacancies for the spring semester.  Most often this is a closed process for candidates in the RA Alternate Pool but the process may be open to new candidates if needed.

Extended Selection Process- This process is for students who missed the General Spring Process and would like to be considered for a spot in the RA Alternate Pool.  Alternates are qualified candidates who attend all staff training events in order to be prepared to take on a position if one becomes available.  This process is not run every year.  The decision to run the Extended Process is dependent upon the number of General Process Applicants.
